Raken has been an excellent partner during the entire journey. From the pitch, through proof of concept, license negotiations, implementation, and production, Raken has been very easy to deal with the entire way.

Pros

The struggle to produce quality daily reports at construction sites used to be real. Raken gave us an "Easy" button. It is almost hard to imagine life before Raken.

Cons

Raken has some extremely nice checklist features to collect data on the mobile app. The only con, is that getting to the data behind these checklists is not possible beyond the PDF report that the checklist produces.

I would say it has been a good overall experience. Especially since this is the first and only construction app that we checked out and immediately put to use. We were able to add about 9 jobs in a two week period as it was being put into use.

Pros

It consolidated into one program that we could utilize for tracking job costs, work done, employee hours and materials used on the job.

Cons

At times, it does seem to be a little pricey when adding a new "seat at the table."

I have been utilizing this app for construction purposes for six years, and it has generally been reliable. However, following an update last summer, the app's performance on my Pixel Pro 7 has been inconsistent. Unlike other apps on my phone, this app now experiences frequent issues. Inputting notes and pictures now require multiple attempts, and the app often reboots and shuts off unexpectedly. Despite reaching out to tech support multiple times and following their suggestions, the problems persist. As a result, I have suggested to my employer that we consider transitioning to Procore.

Pros

The app is very easy to use when it's working properly.

Cons

The constant rebooting of the app while trying to utilize it on the job site.

I love the daily report. Our owners & CMs love seeing that daily. They never have to worry on what is going on because of the write up and the pictures included on that.

The start was slow as we kept running into compatibility issues. Once connected it was a very fast transition. Team was super helpfull in trying to get the program installed and ready.

Pros

Once the setup was completed. the ease at which we can upload pay hours and gather reports was amazing and most workers have adjusted to it quite well.

Cons

Equipment tracking is currently the worst feature. you can only add equipment by hours. you can' separate it into different segments. and when you are working on and off a project each time you move the equipment it creates an entry and make it really hard to track/ has too many entires.

Over the years it has been great. Especially the little improvements that happen within the software. It is obvious that the team at Raken listens to the feedback of its customers. There has also been a couple of hiccups that I have had, but they were definitely user error.[sensitive content hidden] in support was able to help me out quickly and above my expectations!

Pros

Ease of tracking job progress for manpower and progress.

Cons

Some times it is difficult to find exactly what you are looking for, but it gets easier as you navigate through more and more.

Fantastic team, all very helpful...I have not spent one minute feeling like a number or a dollar sign. My sales person [SENSITIVE CONTENT], phenomenal. One of the best sales approaches with the proper follow up that I have ever been involved with. He made this so easy. This software has made keeping track of what goes where with who and when as easy as can be. Each of my Foremen/Project managers can get their notes in all day long instead of spending 30 minutes to an hour at the end of each day to dump information to the cloud. It's quick, it's fast, it keepsy company moving!

Pros

Offline functionalityEase of usePriceEasily accsessible in the fielsUsing the App interface for data collecting along with the desktop site for organization and processing info seemlessly integrates my field operators with my office support team so we never miss a beat!

Cons

Would like a little more customization options but I haven't even had our full set up yet so I am sure it's coming. Would like to be able to assign tasks to mutiple people without recreating the task. Would like name and time stamps on notes.

Reasons for Switching to RAKEN

Well one, their sales pitches were terrible...they just wanted to talk to me about the things they think are cool about their product. Raken took the time ask what my needs are and then let me know how they can help me deliver on them. Pricing with Raken is much more practical, as a small company I cannot see paying 10k for startup of software plus 500-1000/monthly in support/service fees with Raken at less than half that price, with better people and better service! Raken IS the Golden Ticket.

We are using it for the ease of the JHA feature, it's simple and easy for the guys!

Cons

We are a small company so cost matters to us probably more than a larger company, so the price was what make us take a pause before ordering.

Helps keep our projects organized and moving forward smoothly.
support is great and helpful with looking into upgrades and requests for improvements is welcome.

Cons

The learning curve for certain personnel onsite is difficult and slow to accept.
Some modules need overhauls to make more user friendly and some features added are needed like date stamps on task completion.

It is easy to start using and requires minimal instruction. The daily report is nice once it is processed.

Cons

The updates that occur seem to down grade the system. There has not been an update that we have been excited about. The last one wiped out many of the things we liked.

We have been using the Raken app now for almost 8 months. We have found that this greatly cuts on paper waste, and improves response time by having uploads available in real time.

Pros

We are a commercial wood framing company. The best feature of this app is the ease of use for all of our foremen. The speak-to-text works great, and uploading pictures are simple. This gives us plenty of real-tie information.

Cons

Once you have multiple projects going, sometimes it is difficult to find a specific log that mentions a key item you are looking for from a month or two ago. A keyword search feature to sort through the daily logs would be nice.

We are steel erectors running 3 crews. We were going crazy trying to keep up with who was where...

We are steel erectors running 3 crews. We were going crazy trying to keep up with who was where doing what. None of our Forman are good with paper processing. We introduced them to Raken and we get more detail on a daily basis that we ever thought possible. They love it....what was burdensome communication is now bragging rights....the Forman take pride in their work and out-do each other with amazing photos of work completion and level of daily accomplishment. We are no longer chasing down fuel and charge card receipts as they just snap a picture of it, include it in the daily activity report and throw the paper away. No more Monday morning crisis calls from the office trying to sort payroll, either. We close everyday knowing how many hours each employee worked on each job. Payroll and cost accounting can now be processed daily and by Monday morning, payroll is all ready to go with the push of a button. The Daily Reports are also very professional in appearance. We are often treated like small potatoes by large General Contractors and now, with our Daily Reports, we no longer have long negotiation sessions over Change Order requests because our work is accurately and professionally documented along with photographs. Thanks, Raken. We are fans.

We have been able to easily track many daily reports of our projects using Raken. Being able to have them all in one location is nice. Also, sending out daily reports to other people that need to see them is a great feature.

Pros

Using Raken for the past 3+ years, I have seen the software develop and continue to expand. Raken strives to be on the leading edge for keeping track of day to day activities on a construction site. Using the app on my phone or tablet has been very helpful in keeping track of jobsite Daily Reports. Being able to attach pictures to the report is great.

Cons

There has not been any issues or problems with the software that has stood out to me. Only thing I've had trouble with in the past has been pictures uploading sideways. This was corrected with an update to the app.

Tracking and receiving daily reports is made possible. Without Raken it would be a paperwork nightmare for everyone.

Pros

The support is the best support out of all the software packages we use. The developers respond quickly to bigger issues and most importantly the software is incredibly intuitive and well designed. All spectrum of technical skills in our company can use it with ease.

Cons

I wish they had more functionalities that we could use. We really only use the Daily reporting function. I would love to be able to download everything into an excel file.
