Technical Support and User Experience. Every update ruins SOMETHING about the program and it takes weeks or even months to get it fixed. The latest version deleted entire asset libraries that I've been using for 5+ years, and most interactions with the support team leave me more frustrated than when I started. They even insulted me and said I couldn't read once.

I needed this software for my new job as an instructional designer and I'm glad I made the investment. Previous I was using Techsmith Screenflow – while it's a good tool, it's only for Macs and doesn't work well for collaboration. This is easy to learn, feature-rich, and with enough tools for decent audio edting and treatment (and that's coming from a voiceover specialist). I love the certification courses and the community of support and webinars is fantastic.

Some of the Windows features aren't available for Macs, such as better support for captions (including .srt files). I would also appreciate having more advanced color correction, but I know that's a nice-to-have and not a need-to-have. And finally, why isn't there an iOS app version?

A few drawbacks is the in platform audio editing features. There is four effects that you can apply to try to enhance audio. They are good but not professional. Also I wish you could have multiple projects open so you can move files between sessions.

it compresses the files in very short file sizes. sometimes i would use this for only this purpose.

I really like how user friendly Camtasia is for learning and creating quick videos. I use the tool for creating company wide training and it is very easy to screen record and edit our training.

The available shapes and media for dragging and dropping into the tool are great. There are a lot of options but I would always be open to more options.

Well, this is one of the best screen video capture tools I ever tried. The video is done with great results and essentially looks like professional recordings. I use it to make presentations and webinars. It can export the file to various formats.

I didn’t really need much instruction to learn how to use Camtasia! I just went to the website to learn the basics and started using it. If you are a beginner in video editing, this is the easiest software to learn! Before purchasing Camtasia, I tried to use a free open source video editing software. I was a little frustrated and there was a learning curve, so I decided to invest in Camtasia.Why didn’t I get this earlier? I should have gotten it before I spent so much time figuring out the free one.You don’t have to be so techy because a non-techy person like me can use it. You can add various, professional looking annotations and editing is a breeze! It also allows you to do simple audio editing to eliminate background noise. You can also add narration, which is so handy. I like the ease of adding captions under my videos.

It is a one-time payment, but a little pricey. If you want the latest version, you need to keep investing in this software every year to upgrade. I have a Camtasia version 2020, but it’s still working great.

The easy video editing built in makes it useful for videos recorded in other platforms and being able to export in formats supported by YouTube and most elearning platforms makes it easy.

While Camtasia does come with some stock images, it would be nice if more were included in a Camtasia subscription as opposed to having to subscribe to images as a separate service.

Camtasia has a wonderful collection of readily available tutorial video for the newbies which is welcoming and very comfortable to work with, the ease in the drag and drop capabilities is second to none. It's library, annotations and transitions, another section of awesomeness.

Well, the fact that it sometimes crashes which might make the software seem heavy but it's the best I've used and seen so far for its amazing features and one I can gladly recommend, to avoid problems just get a computer with a high capacity and you're good to go!
