AMAZING experience from first contact through trial to purchase. Outstanding support! They are clearly listening to customer feedback and implement feature requests in short period of time.

Pros

Patchmanagement, Automation and ease of use had the most impact to our business and our processes.

Cons

It might not offer as extensive functionality as some of its competitors. Nevertheless, this also makes it lean, fast and easy to use.

I can only say that Action1 is fantastic, and I hightly recommend it to anyone looking for a patch managment solution.

Pros

Action1 has been a lifesaver for us as a small ICT Team. We now have full overview of our fleet of windows devices and can see any updates or vulnerabilites at a pane of glass. In my team we often talk about how a great find Action1 was. We looked at different solutions, but they were either too expensive or did not have the features we wanted. We love how the team at Action1 regulary keep us up to date webinars, and frequently publish new features.

Cons

I can't think of anything I don't like about Action1. I do wish that we also could see our MacOS fleet in Action1, but the good news is that that is on their roadmap.

Cons

The only issue we ran into was the remote access to endpoints, it is slow and has issues when switching multiple displays.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Jeff. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Action1 RMM, and we are happy that you like our feature set.

Faster more efficient means of accessing clients machines for support.

Pros

It is very simple to setup and deploy. The remote connections are hassle free and need no client interaction which is more efficient whilst still remaining secure. The patching is easy to control and gives the ability to ensure all clients are fully patched. We can even choose when and how they are deployed.

Cons

Monitoring could be better with easier access to the logs. This way you can see things like bad blocks or memory errors.

My experience with Action1 has been great. I would highly recommend using this software as an RMM tool for technicians and IT managers to help control and keep your endpoints secure.

Pros

I have been using Action1 for over a year and I am very impressed. It contains lots of useful features such as remote desktop, update deployments, vulnerability patches, and software deployment.

My favorite part of Action1 is the ability for it to automatically update endpoints which gives me more time to solve other IT issues.

From day one I have found Action1 to be a fantastic product. I believe we starting using this software in it's infancy, but you wouldn't have known it. The support team were amazing and even sent over some customised reports we requested that were not available from the portal at the time. It's a straight forward piece of software that delivers what it advertises and much more.

Pros

It's straight forward ease of use. The way it is constantly being improved with new features added on a regular basis. The support team have always been great when contacted and seem to genuinely want to help resolved your issue. It simply just does what it says it does, and well.

Cons

It's not perfect. But then what is. Occasionally I find that it might be missing an option to simplify what I'm trying to do. But never had an issue where I couldn't achieve what I was trying to.

Action1 has given me a platform to management three sites in 2 states. I can scan and apply patches with ease. I can apply patches individually, per device, or to specific groups.

I no longer have to spend hours gathering updates and manually pushing them out, nor do I need "hands-on" every workstation. One interface provides all I need to scan patch and support my end users.

Pros

I really like the ease with which this tool is setup. Out of the box, it can handle patch management, device scanning, and remote desktop services.

Cons

I do wish the tool had more insight into the networking side of things. However, being a patch management tool it is not an expectation.

Action1 Review after about a year of use.

We used to be a much larger MSP managing 200+ clients operating with a staff of 9 techs. Since COVID, we've all but closed down and were paying other RMM tools a small fortune to simply rdp to their systems to help an end user figure out why their printer wasn't working. Action1 has saved us an incredible amount of time and money by providing a fantastic RDP / Remote monitoring suite.

Pros

Action1's price for a smaller operation is 100% the reason we even considered it. We manage approximately 60 devices and their "free" use for up to 100 endpoints was critical in helping us switch over. Their deployment is a breeze; the organization of endpoints for the different companies we manage seems logical and straight forward. I don't recall ever doing a mass deployment to a particular company "group". After installing the endpoint manager, it's easy enough for us anyway to assign them to the group we want in the dashboard, but your miles may vary. Once you group your devices into a group, the overview is incredibly helpful. You can see the name of the system(and rename the hostname if you need too for better organization), add some custom notes, see who's currently logged into the machine, if its online or not, if a reboot is suggested, what OS the system is running and if the system is missing any updates. All at a glance. You can push scripts, connect via RDP with a click of a button, reboot the system and more. Incredibly intuitive interface that 100% meets all of our needs. I'm 100% confident we don't even use a fraction of what this software is capable of, but of the parts we do use, it's become critical for us and how we operate.

Cons

Currently, as we're a very small MSP, there's nothing I ever sat down and needed Action1 to do that it doesn't already do that we maybe don't have a work around for, so it's not a huge issue for us. The only thing that comes to mind is file transferring? I'm not aware of the ability to transfer a file from my system to the remote endpoint. If there is, I apologize. We have a SFTP site I just log into and drop the data from, so it's not that big of a deal. The clipboard works so if I have to copy and paste a password for instance, that works, which is 99% of all we need to do "transferring" anything.

Overall, for the cost and 100 free endpoints, this cant be beat, it gives you the most including items needed for RMM, the ability to run scripts either via powershell or command line is just awesome to have, remote control, main view of client updates that need to be done, Is an awesome product

Pros

Some of the best features are the ability to deploy either through group policy or manual, This limits how log to onboarding a client

Cons

Some features that are missing is being able to transfer files from tech computer to remote computer, another item is the layout, needs to have customize the current view or adding columns, instead of having to drill down further to find either IP address etcThe need for a Mac and Linux client could be a tremendous add on

Action1 has been a gamechanger for us in regards to an easy to use product to help us manage our fleet of computers for our small organization within a limited budget as well as limited IT adjacent staffing. Being able to schedule patching, deploy apps and running scripts in the background, as well as being able to real-time troubleshoot across our network via the remote access tools. It has saved hours and hours of staff time as well as being affordable for us in that we can take advantage of the free tier based on our PC count.

Pros

Ease of installation on our machine, the ability to create and manage multiple groups, the easily accessible patch and app management features, as well as remote desktop support. The ability to select patching types and schedule them by individual computers, groups or entire organization is a huge time-saver as well.

Cons

Would like to see additional options added the remote desktop interface to improve the features available within that tool. Would also be great to have more customization within the asset management and reporting tools. Also better support for adding and deploying third-party apps not included already in the library (we have seen some issues with pushing .exe files in particular for installation - MSI files work great!)

The software provided robust remote endpoint management capabilities, allowing me to efficiently monitor and manage all devices within my network. The centralized dashboard, real-time alerts, and reporting features were particularly valuable in ensuring the security and performance of my endpoints. While there was a learning curve for advanced configurations, the software's documentation and customer support were helpful in addressing any challenges. Overall, Action1 provided a reliable and efficient solution for remote endpoint management, contributing to better network security and streamlined IT operations.

Pros

One of the things I liked most about Action1 was its comprehensive remote endpoint management capabilities. The software provided a centralized dashboard that allowed me to monitor and manage all the endpoints in my network from a single interface. The ability to remotely deploy software updates, patches, and security configurations to multiple devices simultaneously was a significant time-saver. The real-time alerts and notifications kept me informed about any security threats or system issues, allowing me to take immediate action. Additionally, Action1's reporting and auditing features provided valuable insights into the overall health and performance of my endpoints. Overall, the remote management capabilities of Action1 were highly efficient and contributed to better network security and maintenance.

Cons

One aspect I liked least was the complexity of certain advanced configurations. While the basic functionalities were relatively straightforward to use, configuring more advanced features and policies required a deeper understanding of the software's capabilities. The learning curve for implementing custom actions or creating complex automation workflows could be steep for users without prior technical knowledge. However, Action1's documentation and customer support were helpful in overcoming these challenges.

I am delighted with Action 1, this product this has made my daily work life so much easier. Having a fully functioning free option (for 50 PCs) makes it a no-brainer for me.

Pros

As an IT manager for a SME company with a limited IT budget, I am always looking for products that really make my life easier. I don't have a large team or the hours required to configure and train on complex implementations.
As my company has grown I found that more and more of my time was being spent on deploying software and patching a growing number of PCs and so I needed a comprehensive product to manage this vital process for me.
Enter Action 1, a product which offers easy implementation and a quick learning curve with an unlimited duration trial . I was instantly intrigued and wondered if it would really be any good. I installed the client and after a brief remote session with Action1's excellent support team to clarify some settings, was up and running on a handful of PCs. The rest is history, I now use this excellent product constantly right across the business to deploy and update my applications to new builds/images and have it set to auto run overnight, twice a week for MS updates.

Cons

For companies like mine using MS Azure Active directory, there are a couple of small workarounds required to run the service on the master machine. However these are quick to implement and not really an issue.

Response from Action1

Thanks so much, Peter! We are delighted to hear about your positive experience working with us, and are using your feedback to make our system even better. In fact, more extensive support for MS Azure Active Directory is on our roadmap. As always, please feel free to reach out to us at any time.

Pros

Extremely easy to deploy and to use. Action1 really shines compared to some competitors which are overly complex and opaque to operate. It's quality software--all of us who work in IT are familiar with packages which promise the world but never actually work right--Action is not like that, it works very well from day 1. Pros

This has been a game changer in endpoint patch management, I have used many of the major RMM's and this is a much better tool at Considering the diverse range of clients we cater to, with 5-30 endpoints each, spanning industries such as healthcare and entertainment, providing service within limited windows of 1am-6am, seven days a week, can be quite challenging. Action1 has been a game-changer for me. Not only has it streamlined my patch and update process, but it has also been instrumental in addressing windows-related issues for my users. The ability to troubleshoot without being physically present on-site is a significant time-saver. Moreover, the software's capabilities in handling multiple endpoints simultaneously mean that I can do more in less time, eliminating the tediousness of manual operations.

Pros

I've experimented with various tools, but Action1 stands out. The ease of installing an agent on an endpoint with zero configuration is commendable. With just a link to the end user, I can manage updates and patches (including third-party apps). It offers the flexibility of executing pre-deployed windows scripts or using bespoke ones. One of the standout features, from my perspective, is the ability to swiftly connect to a remote desktop without requiring any additional tools or the hassles of user IDs and passwords.

Cons

While I've had a largely positive experience with the software, I think it falls short in its inability to manage other operating systems. A more holistic solution would integrate management for platforms like Android and iOS tablets.

Its the ability to make sure that all our PCs are patched and up to date, and to manage the software on them. This is particularly when our staff are no longer in the office all the time and are working from home.

Pros

I have found that the deployment of apps is particularly effective. It's great to be able to roll out software to our PCs here within minutes no matter where people are based. I have found that the updates work really well as well.

Cons

I think some of the information can be hard to find, or you have to drill down. For example finding if a machine has low disk space. Also would like the ability to be alerted if a machine goes offline. The remote access seems a bit limited, for instance with no ability to transfer files.

Response from Action1

Pros

I enjoy that I am able to connect to every computer and understand what is happening within my network. I like that there are email motivations that I can set up to know what is critical and who has installed a software. Peace of mind is what I like the most, especially as a one person IT position.

Cons

Game Changer for our Non-Profit Organization

Game changer, has saved me easily hundreds of hours for our organization.

Pros

The option of free workstations under 100 instances was what originally make me take a deeper dive into Action1, but the ease of deployment, remote support, and patch management were exactly what I needed for our organization. With Action1 I was able to bring 80+ desktops with all various OSes, software and hardware configurations and installed patches up to industry standard in almost no time. No more tech debt!

Cons

I would like the ability to approve EULA changes on some software patches, as of now if you try to push out a multiple workstation patch and 1 piece of software requires an EULA the update will not proceed. You have to take 1 workstation, patch it on it's own, accept the agreement. Then running the batch job again will accept the EULA and proceed like normal.

Action1 has replaced two products on our networks, saving us a good amount of money. Patch management is where this product really excels. Inventory management is totally functional and based on what we've seen so far, they will continue to improve functionality and UI/UX rapidly.

Pros

Primarily we were looking to improve our patch management for Windows updates and 3rd party software. Action1 does both of these functions wonderfully.

Cons

Asset management and reporting need some improvements in UX. It does a wonderful job, but we'd love to see some additional features added. For example, we'd like to be able to add a custom field that is easily searchable for our asset ID tags. You can do this by adding notes, but it's not straightforward in the UI how to get to the proper reports.
