Overall SendGrid offers a great service with competitive pricing and great performance. Unfortunately the deliverability for emails hosted on Microsoft servers is not that good and other providers might be needed in those cases.
Pros
SendGrid is a well priced ESP with great delivery performance, near instant webhooks and highly configurable. Their API is quite straightforward to use, minimizing integration costs.
Cons
When using a shared IP, deliverability to Microsoft hosted email addresses is really bad, most emails sent to Outlook or Microsoft 365 organizations end classified as SPAM and the only workaround withing SendGrid is to have a higher cost plan with dedicated IP addresses, having to build the IP reputation from scratch. Also support takes days to reply to most concerns.

Easy to set up, secure and verbose logging and reporting make this an easy choice for SaaS email relaying. While there is a marketing portion to this application, we don't use it so I can't speak of it.
Pros
I don't think the email API service has ever had a technical downtime where it doesn't work in the many years we have used it. The API itself is very easy to use and use the least privileges. Integrating the API into your SEIM or reporting platform (Power Bi for example) is also really easy to do and gives verbose information.
Cons
Email reputation can be a concern in ensuring your emails are delivered externally unless you want to pay extra, otherwise, the lower tiers are fine and still have decent deliverability %'s, typically above 95%'s.

Our use case is simple: We need reliable deliverability of emails to up to 2,500 addresses, three times weekly, and we need to be able to track bounces, address changes, etc. easily. Sendgrid provides that service well and at an affordable price point. It also offers traditional "email marketing" services, which we do not use and cannot evaluate. For our needs, it's a solid offering.
Pros
The media center I run submits three political op-eds per week to about 1,300 newspapers in the US (and sometimes another 1,200 internationally). Sendgrid delivers those emails in a timely manner and keeps track of bounces, etc.
Cons
Setting up to use the API from a custom email address is a bit cumbersome.

For the price, I feel like SendGrid can definitely work for certain companies. It’s easy to setup and start using. If you rely heavily on campaign analytics, I’d look elsewhere.
Pros
The user interface is fairly intuitive and easy to navigate. Template and list management tools are also nice.
Cons
After SendGrid was acquired by Twilio, we saw a downgrade in service. Engagement analytics were not as reliable since many spam filters were showing as clicks. It made it hard to determine which campaigns were actually successful.

The platform has strengthened the way I manage email communications, allowing me to reach our clients effectively and efficiently.
Pros
The highlights of this platform for me have been its impressive ability to integrate seamlessly with other platforms and its intuitive interface that makes it easy to handle emails at scale. But I also really liked the ease of initial configuration that allowed me to launch our campaigns quickly, thus optimizing our response times to the market.
Cons
It is important to mention that at specific times I have experienced some delays in the response of technical support. However, these incidents have been minor and do not affect my overall perception of the platform.

SendGrid is overall a robust platform and we have never faced any downtime or high failure rate on SendGrid.
Pros
The best part of SendGrid is its option of adding contacts directly with CSV files and easy integration with MoEngage. The pricing is also affordable for high volume email-sending and transactional communication.
Cons
The promotional plans of SendGrid are priced much on the higher side. Moreover, customisation of Unsubscribe option is not available, for instance we wanted to add a Unsubscribe footer with images and GIFs as a standard for emails but that was not available.

We use it for our transactional emails mostly. It was an easy set up. Creating emails was also an easy process, we started with their design interface and then moved to coded emails.
Pros
Very easy to create email templates, and integrate with your website. The tool handles really well bounces & spams. We've never had problems with it.
Cons
In the reporting, the unique open email seems to be based on events happening from devices. So if I open the same email from desktop and then from mobile, it will be 2 unique opens. I think this should be based on the actual email.

We needed a way to improve on the fairly dismal email deliverability in client WordPress sites, and our primary web host had an integration with SendGrid. After seeing great improvement in deliverability with SendGrid, we have started using it on many sites hosted elsewhere.
Pros
The biggest pro is that SendGrid has a free tier -- increasingly their competitors are moving away from having one. As a result, we can use SendGrid with many sites to improve email deliverability within Wordpress for free, and it's still affordable if it's needed more.
Cons
Email validation is not available until you reach the Pro level, which can be a bit pricier for smaller sites.

What a horrible experience. After signing up as a new business customer as part of a new marketing strategy my business implemented, SendGrid immediately suspended my account for no reason (after taking my personal information), and an agent then proceeded to tell me some magical 'vetting' system determined I wasn't eligible to use their service. After asking how an earth they could 'vet' me considering they haven't even obtained anything about my business they proceeded to tell me they can't tell me why and that their decision was final.Appalling service, I genuinely have no idea how these people even have customers to begin with if one can't even sign up....
Pros
Absolutely nothing, couldn't even sign up...
Cons
Everything, because they discriminate on who signs up to them, and give no explanation for suspending your account after taking your personal information.

Stay away from this service, any other service would be better for your business and sanity.
Pros
Nothing to like about this service unfortunately.
Cons
There is no customer support, they ban your account even after you have paid for no reason due to suspicious activity, which is sending emails. The service for sending emails bans their users for sending emails, and then you have to open a support ticket to reactivate your account which takes almost 2 weeks to get an initial response.

I didn't find it too intuitive, but I appreciate that this can be absolutely subjective. However, that was limiting for me and it didn't make it worth to invest my time in learning it, especially considering that the cost was above my budget.
Pros
I feel that the integrations are the best part, many other platforms are in the list, that's great.I also like all the customizable email templates, you can work right away with them and think about becoming more experienced only later. Finally, the reports are extremely detailed.
Cons
This is not for newbies, you need at least a bit of technical knowledge, so the first impact can be not too friendly. I think that the biggest flaw is the pricing, which it's quite high for me and I think that sendgrid is less cost effective than other platforms. Besides, many features are only available with the higher tier plans.
