We can identify which contacts are most interested in our content and website thanks to Active Campaign, we can sell more conference tickets, and we can learn more about our audience by analyzing their open and click rates. With the help of these resources, we can divide our target audience into the subsets we need to accomplish our aims.

Pros

We've seen significant efficiency gains thanks to Active Campaign. They have made it simple to set up automated email sequences, or "drip campaigns," that will keep our subscribers and viewers interested. To generate sales, set up reminders, and get rid of inactive contacts has all been aided by this. Easy contact tagging, list segmentation, and A/B testing are other highlights. Active Campaign is simple to use, and there are many tutorials and guides available online.

Cons

We were initially put off by the software's seeming complexity and difficulty. However, there is a learning curve associated with it, and it does take some time to properly comprehend and apply all of its capabilities. After putting in the work, though, we found that it was well worth it. ActiveCampaign is great, and we highly recommend it.

My overall experience with active campaign has been very good I've been with them for about 7 years now I've never had any issues with the software it works perfectly fine I'm a happy customer five-star.

Pros

What I like about active campaign is that it's very fast I've never had any issues with it great security and I'm able to do everything from one dashboard setup was also very easy as well.

Cons

The only thing I could say that I like lease is I wish it could be a little bit cheaper as active campaign is more on the high end side so a lot of people still can't afford it.

We were reasonably satisfied with Active Campaign for the first two years. The system is very slow and affects the user experience, but the automations were nice. However, for a system to break so easily for making such a small change which led to significant lost revenue, caused us to change our opinion of AC. Even when asking Customer Support for help, they simply told us everything was working as expected. No credits, no help, little to no sympathy. We used their system to generate revenue, not lose it.

Pros

I liked having the CRM and email marketing automations all within one solution. This made it easier to track leads as well as provide multiple follow-up emails with interested contacts.

Cons

The fragility of the online forms led to a broken automation that was hidden from us for 6 months and cost us $10,000's in lost revenue. We utilized AC's online web form to collect contact information (highest quality leads), but when we made a small wording change to one of the form options, this broke the automation entired and we ceased getting any leads from this channel. When we contacted Customer Support, they told us it was working as expected, yet there was no warning from the system indicating that we were at risk of breaking an automation, nor did their user guide provide any such information either.

Getting worse. It used to be easy and intuitive to use. Now there are errors, bugs and feature reductions almost every week that are surprising and frankly alarming.

Pros

It WAS easy to use. No longer the case.

Cons

Getting harder to use. Complicated. MOST CRITICAL: They are getting rid of features which are critical and sensible to maintain e.g. image resize, e.g. details on recent activities. The changes have eroded and downgraded the usability and attractiveness of their original program.

From the moment I began using ActiveCampaign, it transformed the way I approach email marketing. The platform offers an amalgamation of depth and simplicity. While the features are advanced, they are laid out in a manner that’s easy to grasp. The support team deserves special mention. They've been consistently responsive and helpful, guiding me through any challenges. Whether it's managing contacts, setting up automations, or diving deep into analytics, ActiveCampaign has provided a reliable and efficient experience.

Pros

ActiveCampaign truly stands out in its user-friendly interface and powerful automation capabilities. The platform offers an extensive set of tools that make email marketing, segmentation, and automation a breeze. The built-in CRM is a game-changer, seamlessly integrating all my contact details and interaction histories. It also provides insightful tracking features, ensuring I understand my audience's behavior and can tailor my campaigns accordingly. Moreover, the level of customization available for emails, combined with the intuitive visual automation builder, has helped in crafting high-performing campaigns.

Cons

Honestly, there's not much to criticize given its overall performance. However, for newcomers to email marketing or those used to more basic platforms, there might be a bit of a learning curve initially. The vast array of features, while advantageous, can be a little overwhelming.

Reasons for Switching to ActiveCampaign

When considering other products in the market, it was clear that while many offered bits and pieces of what ActiveCampaign provides, none encapsulated its entire suite of tools. Platforms like Mailchimp and HubSpot were on the list, but ActiveCampaign's robust automation capabilities, combined with its CRM and pricing structure, made it the most attractive option. The positive reviews and its reputation in the community further solidified the decision. In conclusion, ActiveCampaign has become an indispensable tool in my marketing arsenal. For anyone serious about elevating their email marketing game, I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try.

WARNING: this review is more of a heads-up for Active Campaign, in case they ever read it :) The product is great, with very high performance and an easy set up if you are not a newbie in the marketing automation space. However:
- the prices have gone up consistently without a serious improvement in features
-despite their position in the market, their integration with woocommerce requires manual coding when it comes to syncing anything different than standard order statuses. In our case, it often happens with Woocomerce subscriptions. This does not mean that you cannot achieve a perfect sync of your ecommerce data, only that the time and testing required would substantially increase the price for our end clients (agency here). This is why whenever there is any custom woocommerce integration to deal with we tend not to advice for Active Campaign.

Pros

The automation management system is really one of the best on the market.
As mentioned, you might have to struggle for deep, manual integration if you have specific ecommerce needs (i.e. subscription products whose membership status needs to trigger actions in the automations) but a part from that their approach is still the best on the market for that, you even have an automation map to keep track of how automations connect to each other.

Cons

Right now definitely a) the cost: there is a lot of fresher solutions that come for a fraction of AC's licence cost and perform as much as good, if you are willing to close an eye on usability and some specific features. b) data export: AC tries to discourage your migration to other platforms. I.e.: if you want to export all your contacts with the information of the lists they are in, you will have to export each list separately. Also, you can't export ecommerce data together with the contacts, you will need to resync your new platform with your ecommere

My overall experience with ActiveCampaign has been positive. It's a comprehensive email marketing and automation platform that offers a wide range of features to help manage and grow customer relationships. The user interface is intuitive, making it easy to create and manage campaigns, automate workflows, and segment audiences effectively.

Pros

What I liked most about ActiveCampaign is its robust automation capabilities. The platform allows for creating detailed and complex workflows that can be customized to suit specific needs, making it easy to nurture leads and engage with customers effectively. The intuitive user interface simplifies campaign creation and management, and the segmentation options enable targeted communication. Additionally, the comprehensive reporting and analytics tools provide valuable insights into campaign performance, helping to optimize marketing strategies.

Cons

Additionally, the pricing structure can become quite expensive as the contact list grows, which might not be ideal for smaller businesses or those with limited budgets. Integration with some third-party tools can also be cumbersome and require additional effort to set up properly.

It’s super powerful if used by someone with a few years experience of building out complex email workflows and automations, but it was simply too powerful for what we needed, which was to simply send a basic drip-feed campaign to engaged prospects and send out a weekly newsletter to customers.
