I use day by day working with game development integrated with Unity and to prepare classes as a Professor in the area.

    Pros

Microsoft Visual Studio is very well integrated to other tools for application and games programming. It is plenty of highlights and default settings that help the workflow! You only need to install and use, is much enough. But, it is possible customize as much as you want too. One of my favorite computational tools.

    Cons

Sometimes it can be heavy for some computational systems, but it is not a big setback, because there is lighter version.

Overall Visual studio is one of the best IDE and one stop solution for developers to code .As it provides various features ,plugins , extensions along with support to various programming languages and debugging it is very much popular. If you are JavaScript developer it is the best IDE available in the market.

    Pros

Visual Studio provides support to various programming languages . It has own plugins for debugging as well as supports other plugins and extensions . We can easily integrate it with Git which makes it more helpful .Also debugging is very easy and convenient in Visual studio along with coding

    Cons

It takes high CPU usage is one of concerning reason ,but as it offers so many one stop features to developer that can be neglected .Few UI improvements can be done

With time and constant learning, I am able to do my work with MS visual studio without finding references on other applications. Except that one has to read official docs for sure. Please take some time and you will be used to work on MS visual studio IDE

    Pros

As if I have to code in Java intensively, I need maven or gradle packages which is only available or easy to find with only Microsoft Visual Studio.

    Cons

It's not a con but should be considered as developers who are coming from languages[scripting languages in old days :( ] like javaScript are bit used to code on latest GUI and MS visual studio quite lags behind in terms on GUI and suggestions

How Microsoft Visual Studio makes Debugging into a fun Puzzle

I use it daily to produce Machine Vision Applications, AI Applications, and numerous PLC communication protocols, e.g. Profinet , Ethernet/IP, ... It allows me to be enormously productive due to unparalleled debugging capabilities, ease of producing User Interfaces, seamlessly Combining C++ with Code# ; interacting with 3rd party SW such as TensorFlow.

    Pros

It's level of debugging is unparalleled . No other IDE I've ever seen can upon one thread throwing an exception after it stops at the offending source code line, and then you can peruse the call stack of that thread, or any other thread's call stack. Numerous times this has saved me when flawed mutex situation has led to say 5 threads deadlocked and I have to unravel to find the first sin.

    Cons

Being a creature of habit, I was devastated in 2010 when VS10 was rewritten from MFC to Windows Forms, a consequence of this was that MFC MDI (Multiple Doc Interface) has no counterpart in Windows Forms.
