Overall Visual studio is one of the best IDE and one stop solution for developers to code .As it provides various features ,plugins , extensions along with support to various programming languages and debugging it is very much popular. If you are JavaScript developer it is the best IDE available in the market.

    Pros

Visual Studio provides support to various programming languages . It has own plugins for debugging as well as supports other plugins and extensions . We can easily integrate it with Git which makes it more helpful .Also debugging is very easy and convenient in Visual studio along with coding

    Cons

It takes high CPU usage is one of concerning reason ,but as it offers so many one stop features to developer that can be neglected .Few UI improvements can be done

This is a very useful tool. We use it to provide reporting and analytics for our entire operation. It's SSIS features and reporting tools allow us to present data in different formats and real time so issues can be resolved and we can look high level or as detailed as needed at our organaization.

    Pros

I like how the Microsoft product continues to evolve. In 2017 we make SSIS on its own server. It speeds up Queries and has always on availability groups. Moving it to the cloud has also helped make it more available. It now has a more robust reporting tool to provide analytics on use and ways to improve run times and queries

    Cons

It is a lot different then previous versions. All of the code required major changes to run. There was several issues with connecting to Access databases and Microsoft products that are "known bugs" or being worked on. I cant understand why a product gets out that doesn't integrate with other microsoft products flawlessly.

I've been using VS for more than 20 years now, starting with C++ and moving all the way to C# and Blazor, it's always been a rock solid experience.Sure, some changes were a bit hard to come by from times to times, but this is still a very solid environment.

    Pros

It has lots of language support, either managed or unmanaged and allows seamless integration between them all

    Cons

It can feel a bit bloated at first, and it can be tough to find the right options

    Alternatives Considered

    Visual Studio Code and Delphi

Reasons for Switching to Microsoft Visual Studio

To create C# based projects, this is the IDE that gets the most attention by Microsoft, which means we are always able to use the latest features. Any competitor lags behind, sometimes for years and we can't always wait.

As a developer of mobile and web applications, Microsoft Studio greatly increases productivity and helps a lot with integration with other systems, especially using libraries with NuGet packages.

    Pros

Easy to install, use, update and manage extensions. Microsoft Visual Studio can be considered one of the best and most complete IDEs currently.

    Cons

As time goes by the software installation is occupying more and more disk space. Typical installations require between 20GB and 50GB of free space. Also, newer versions require a minimum of 4GB or 8GB of RAM.
