About Trainual
Trainual is an app that makes it easier than ever to build training manuals for new or existing employees, customers, contractors, interns and volunteers alike. The platform enables business owners, managers, and human resources professionals to organize operational knowledge, document standard operating procedures, create repeatable, scalable processes, define role-based responsibilities and assign training workflows with built-in accountability.
With Trainual’s automated onboarding module, managers can assign content by role, department and location and ensure that employees receive only the most relevant information when they need it. The testing functionality allows managers to monitor the progress of their team training and have the confidence of knowing everyone understands exactly what they need to. Additionally, Trainual will automatically notify employees about any changes to previously completed training materials and ensures that they review the updated content.
Users can easily search SOPs and training materials for keywords within Trainual from the desktop app, the Chrome browser extension, or on-the-go and in-the-field with the Trainual mobile app.
At first login, you can add a logo and select a color scheme to custom brand your account. Invite your team members, and select one of our pre-loaded process and procedure templates from the Template Library to start building out your account with content in minutes.
It's easy to embed images and GIFs to make training more fun using the free stock library and GIPHY integration on Premium accounts. Add surveys, videos and customized forms into learning material then organize content in step-by-step sequences and by user roles and responsibilities. Use the built-in screen recorder tool to record and explain a process when a video overview is the easiest or best way to explain and train on it.
Trainual integrates with productivity tools such as Gusto, Zapier, Google Docs and Sheets, Slack, Asana, Teamwork, Basecamp, Dropbox, Typeform, Harvest, Dotloop, Linkedin, and more. Use the admin panel to grant user permissions and allow others to update and edit subjects—Trainual is easier when you crowdsource your company content and organize all that tribal knowledge.
Trainual stores data on a PCI Level 1 compliant cloud-based server and multimedia files are stored in an Amazon Web Services cloud storage.
Key benefits of Trainual
• Document Everything You Do In One Place: Trainual is more than an onboarding and training tool. It’s an interactive wiki for your business. Once your team starts documenting what they do, you’re on your way to building a turnkey operations manual and long-term memory bank.
• Automate Onboarding & Training: Associate content and processes by role, department, or location to create templates and automate your onboarding. If you hire someone new for that role, just assign them and they get everything they need to know and nothing they don’t.
• Stop Repeating Yourself: Instead of answering the same questions and explaining the same processes over and over, make it easy for employees to access all the information they need to do their job right the first time and every time.
• Test Employees On Their Knowledge: Ensure your people know how to do what’s expected of them with simple tests built into automated sequences. Track logins and monitor user progress. Screen your new hires or prospective employees for comprehension and commitment.
• Retain Talent & Reduce Turnover: The easiest way to keep good people around is to ensure they never feel lost in their role or in your company. Nurture and develop their skillsets and keep them in the loop with easy ongoing training.
• Cut Costs & Boost The Bottom Line: Think about how much time you spend getting each new hire up to speed. Some stuff has to happen face-to-face, but a lot of it is pretty basic. Now what’s your billable hourly rate? How much money could you be saving if you cut training time by 50% or more?
• Powerful Search For Referencing SOPs On The Go: Search for keywords and topics across all of your company’s training materials and SOPs to find and reference or update whatever you need when you need it.
• Push Updates To Your Team Automatically: As soon as any content is changed or added in Trainual, any employee who has previously completed that subject will get a notification that there is new material. They will have to log in, review, and re-complete to stay in the know.
• Embed Videos, Forms, & More: Do you use Typeforms for company-wide surveys or record how-to videos using Loom Screen Recorder? Maybe most of your training content lives on YouTube. Great! Embed it all and organize it into subject tracks by role or responsibility.
• Live Saved Changes While Editing: Create subjects and knowledge flows, auto assign content to new employees in specific roles, and use photos, videos, or upload existing docs to make training easier than ever. Never have an out of date or inconsistent training manual again.
• Custom Brand Your Account: At first login, you can add your logo and select custom colors for your account to get everything in line with your brand. Then, add your team, assign roles, and start creating subjects in no time.
• 1000+ Easy App Integrations: With native integrations to Gusto, Rippling, and Zapier, connect Trainual to the ecosystem of apps you use everyday to boost productivity across the board.

Generally, I do enjoy to be part of this software that earned many things and many prosperous worker that easily skipped the adaptation process through Trainual.
Pros
It does provide the user friendly that what and well designed interface enhance the quick working in the software. To create the training by selected the members through the software is amazing that makes possible to categorize the training and programs according to the needs of the member of the team. The possibility to make some edits on the categorization is stunning. The newly-joined member of our company in the entertainment department could enjoy the chance to adopt the skills and functions in a constant way that will make huge profit.
Cons
To be honest, I do not see any serous problem in general, however, I would tell that the new functions are extremely important. I would be happy to have the special access the learning platform like Coursera or Udemy that some member of our department could benefit from these selected courses. Besides, I want to express my concern about lack of customization possibility that could result in the time saving in the work process.

Overall it has been great. It is easy to use and figure out and it is helping me go deep in systemizing my business.
Pros
We have high turnover and being able to make initial training part of the hiring process have helped us weed out applicants who are not serious. It also provides a great way to get people to complete training before being eligible for raises and promotions. I like how I can track the progress of my team, and quiz them to ensure comprehension, as well as the different media I can implement to help drive home certain points.
Cons
The pricing model that does not include all of the features unless you pay the premium right off the bat. It takes a long time to get all of the systems into Trainual, and I am not able to release it right away to my team so I didnt want to pay the premium if they were not going to be able to access the features right away. I will probably upgrade to the premium later on and revamp my lessons, but I am a bit conflicted about having my team go through re-training at that point just to see some flashy new features that I would have liked to implement at the beginning.
Reasons for Choosing Trainual
Because of the ability to track and quiz applicants and team members and make a more user friendly portal for them.Switched From

And thanks for your feedback on our different plans. The good news is that if you do upgrade, you won't have to make your team go through their training again (unless you'd like them to). Everyone's completion percentage will remain the same when you upgrade. If you do have additonal questions about upgrading or anything else, always feel free to reach out and we'll be glad to help!

My time with trainual was a waste of money and time and never quite got usage from it. Almost $1k later, I ended up cancelling the subscription and have ZERO to show for it.
Pros
In theory, it makes the process of onboarding and training easy and efficient.
Cons
The set up process, even with already having the documentation is burdensome and the flow of how to use the software is confusing. There is no real start and finish or defined, or even suggested, workflow. There are tons of integrations, but no suggestions really as to how to best use them or under what circumstances these things would be useful. It is also incredibly expensive to say that it is ongoing expense that will forever need to be paid for the life of your business. Theres no tapering off or build up. It has to be implemented immediately in order to show it's value and does not account for the set up process.

Great tool for growing companies
Reviewed on 15/08/2023
Pros
I cannot recommend Trainual enough. As a company, we started using Trainual when we were around 50 employees. Two years later, the size has doubled. Having our processes documented neatly in one place has been invaluable and has made the process of onboarding and training new hires seamless. In addition to using it for new hires, it's a useful tool for seasoned employees to refer to when a question regarding a process arises. (The search bar is great!) Trainual holds the online copy of our Employee Handbook, meeting notes for different departments, SOPs, and much more. We appreciate the public share feature, which allows you to share a subject via a link with those who do not have a Trainual account.
Cons
A feature that was requested by one of our team members is an audio version of Trainual for those who are dyslexic.

Overall, Trainual is something that every company needs, big or small. It's important to have a process where you can train your employees and then test them to see if they understood what they just learned. Trainual helps you do that with ease and helps your whole team get up to speed at the same time.
Pros
Trainual allows you to easily create a way for your employees to learn of a new subject and then they can take a test to get tested on their knowledge of the subject after going through the training materials. For our large company, it allowed us to get our employees certified, so that we felt confident that they knew the new information on the new product we were rolling out.
Cons
There are no cons that I have been able to find.
Response from Trainual
Thanks for the review -- Happy we were able to help get your team up to speed!
