QuickBooks Online
About QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks Online is a cloud-based accounting solution that helps businesses manage their accounting, income, expenses, payroll, and more. No additional software is required as all accounts are viewed via the online login portal, with custom feeds and charts, custom invoice creation, 'Pay Now' buttons, and mobile websites, and all with auto-synchronization. The native mobile apps for Android and iOS facilitate on-the-go sales receipt capture, expense tracking, cash flow management, account balance tracking, time tracking, transaction review, purchase order management, client communications, and more.
QuickBooks Online automatically syncs a complete business finance profile to one single dashboard where multiple users can view in-depth reports and accounts of company finances. The platform creates trade, profit, and loss sheets as well as billing and invoice solutions that are all mobile compatible and print-friendly. Users can create their own custom reports and feeds from within the dashboard so businesses only see what matters the most to them.
By navigating through the QuickBooks Online dashboard users can track payments, sales history, and invoice details, add users, and edit permissions. QuickBooks Online is completely integrated with QuickBooks Online Payroll, as well as third-party apps such as PayPal, Shopify, Salesforce, Square POS, and more.

Worked with it for 2 1/2 years - transitioned from desktop. A little wary at first but have come to like it a lot. Does a lot for you automatically as long as you've set up everything correctly.
Pros
Works well with our CRM, direct deposit for payroll, sales tax and payroll taxes are calculated and easy for reporting, year-end reporting - 1099s and W2s are easily created in the system
Cons
If you're not sure how to do something, sometimes hard to get an answer/explanation quickly.

QBO stinks

When I used the old desktop version, I could look forward to reconciling my bank statement to the penny. All that change with the online version. With it, reconciling became such an impossible task that I only knew what was in the bank by using the bank's app. QBO would be off by thousands of dollars. They will offer you a bookkeeper to fix the mess for you for several thousand dollars, witch I don't have, or you will have to leave it with an accountant to try to figure out. Either way, you're going to pay. Tax time is a real mess. Plus never really knowing how your business is doing. It seemed like every entry is counted twice. I sat thru hours of help videos on you tube to try and figure this trainwreck out but it never made sense to me that a company that is named Intuit could be so Un intuitive. If you are a small business, I would look at other accounting software company's to work with. Once you get started with this one and you want to change to another you will have to pay for a conversion of your QBO file to something else and that NEVER goes well Trust me. Do your homework and find something else from the start.
Pros
Remotely sending invoice to a customer and getting payment online is very enticing. The desktop version can only do that with the aid of another app. The idea of tracking milage is also a nice add on if it were accurate.
Cons
I used QB desktop for 25 years and really found it helpful but they steered me toward the online version and things went downhill fast. They have to convert your old file to the new layout and they made a hash of my file. I had to hire local "Expert" to try to fix it at my expense. The chart of accounts was changed drastically. The time saving features didn't materialize. They only thing that was constant was the need for another expert at my expense.

Efficient Financial Management with QuickBooks: A Solid 4-Star Choice

My overall experience with QuickBooks Online has been positive. It has helped me streamline my financial management processes and stay organized with my business finances. The software's user-friendly interface, comprehensive features, and real-time data accessibility have been valuable in tracking income and expenses, generating reports, and maintaining financial stability. While there were some drawbacks such as the cost and learning curve for advanced features, the benefits outweighed the challenges, making QuickBooks Online a valuable tool for managing my business finances efficiently.
Pros
I liked the ease of use and intuitive interface of QuickBooks Online. It made it simple to manage my finances, track income and expenses, and generate reports quickly and accurately. The ability to customize reports and access real-time financial data were particularly impressive features that helped me stay on top of my business finances effectively.
Cons
I found that the cost of the subscription could be a bit high for small businesses, especially when compared to some other accounting software options on the market. Additionally, while the basic features were user-friendly, some of the more advanced functions required a bit of a learning curve to fully utilize. It would be helpful to have more in-depth tutorials or training resources available to make navigating these features easier.
