Excellent, very pleased. Their offer of the first 100 seats for free makes this a wonderful choice for smaller operations.

Pros

Extremely easy to deploy and to use. Action1 really shines compared to some competitors which are overly complex and opaque to operate. It's quality software--all of us who work in IT are familiar with packages which promise the world but never actually work right--Action is not like that, it works very well from day 1. VERY easy to implement and start using productively right away.

Cons

I'd like to see features for a remote task manager, remote service manager, remote event log viewing.

Patch management with Power shell integration a game changer

There where three things we need to solve in our management of client systems 1. Timely patching in a tight windows of 1am-6am, seven days a week this was achieved 2. Ability to run customised power shell scripts easily and efficiently3. To be able to monitor and check the results of the first 2

Pros

This has been a game changer in endpoint patch management, I have used many of the major RMM's and this is a much better tool at Considering the diverse range of clients we cater to, with 5-30 endpoints each, spanning industries such as healthcare and entertainment, providing service within limited windows of 1am-6am, seven days a week, can be quite challenging. However, this tool empowers us to confidently navigate these constraints and ensure we meet all necessary requirements for each client.

Cons

1. Remote desktop lacks some features 2. Navigate back from policy history to the endpoint in the group area3. Add terminal shell and chat functionality

Alternatives Considered

Datto RMM, Atera, NinjaOne and MSP Manager

Reasons for Choosing Action1

1. We needed more certainty in the timing and results of our patch management2. A more focused tool3. A reduction in costs

Reasons for Switching to Action1

Great resource for smaller companies

Reviewed on 13/07/2021

Pros

I appreciate the pricing and functionality of this software. It may be basic in comparison to other applications, but it does a good job with hardware inventory and software patch tracking. I also like the remote control ability. Not as robust as some application, but is still very useful.

Cons

Remote control could use some enhancements. The option to turn off the request for users to accept the remote control connection. Often can't make the connection to the client. No error message.

Response from Action1

Thank you so much for sharing your kind words with us. Your review means a lot to our team.
We also appreciate you've brought some issues to our attention as we are constantly improving our product. We are glad to inform you that the ability to turn off the request for users to accept the remote-control connection will come with the next product release.

Action1 is the patch control, endpoint management platform you've been looking for

Reviewed on 08/03/2024

Pros

The Action1 remote management is beyond anything else we've tried for speed, reliability, and management. We've been able to run custom scripts without trouble, patch without headache and remote access without worry. They literally will give you 100 FREE endpoints because they know it's good enough you'll upgrade to your entire environment (happily guilty here.) Do it. Deploy Action1.

Cons

Their feature updates aren't as fast as we might want, but developing something this good takes time.

Our overall experience has been good. We've created bundles to deploy, we manage patches, do remote access. It now our to go tool when someone has an issue we can't fix by sending them instructions. and it helps inmensly when we try to figure out what software version anyone has.

Pros

We like that is solves our problem of managing our hardware and software inventory, plus it allows us to do patching and software deployment from a central console. the added bonus is the remote access/desktop ability to support users when they have issues.

Cons

The reporting is a bit convoluted to get the list of software in a single user's computer, but we eventually figured it out.

Alternatives Considered

Automox, PDQ Deploy & Inventory, NinjaOne and Pulseway

Reasons for Switching to Action1

It covered all that we needed and we could start on the free tier and make our case to management by deploying it at no cost. It's value is already proven so by the time we pass the free tier we will keep using it.
