About Skype
Skype is a Microsoft tool for phone calls, video conferencing, chats, and messaging. The VoIP program is preinstalled on many Windows systems, and the basic version can be used free of charge. For business users, Skype offers only basic functions.
Skype has a number of other functions in addition to VoIP telephony to other Skype users, landlines, or cellular networks. Users can exchange messages and send files via Messenger. Conferences can be held with or without a video stream. The number of participants is limited to 50. In addition, Skype offers functions for screen sharing and meetings, a customizable interface, and a contact book. There is a scheduler for appointments so meetings can be time-limited.
Skype also offers integrated translation software. This can broadcast live conversations in another language. The translator waits for a sentence to finish, and then translates it as a subtitle. Users can be invited by phone, email, or link. There are also functions for surveys, recording, and private chats. The program complies with in-force data protection regulations. Data is protected with 256-bit TLS 1.2 encryption.

Skype is the oldest tool I have used in life. And it still holds up pretty well in spite of new arrivals in the market.
And to me, it's still the best there is out there with great features like the messaging app (a real must in my business) and the standard good quality video and audio, screensharing and unlimited time for calls. It's just perfect for my needs.
Pros
There're so many pros on my personal use, such as:
- Good video and sound quality;
- Great supresion software quality;
- Chat messaging is a killer feature
Cons
The only con I see is the Mac app. Sometimes it takes a lot of memory but other than that everything else is great.
