If bad actors try to use them, they’ll reveal data that will identify them – like marked money used to pay ransom. A proprietary algorithm turns the legitimate username-password pairs \ninto artificial, marked decoy credentials, protecting them from theft. \n\n\nThe decoy username is the original username, with a change of several characters.\nThe decoy password carries an identifier of the offending site used for the attack and is a modified version of the original password that looks ostensibly as though it were produced organically by a human.\nIdentifying victims: Memcyco uses tamper-resistant nano defender technology that hides in your website code. When fake sites are created using methods such as cloning, spoofing, copying original graphic elements, or post-scam referrals to your website, Memcyco detects the nano-defender each time customers enter offending sites.\nWhen users click links to those sites, Memcyco extracts their device fingerprint, inferring their identity using previously created user-device mapping data.\nVia your Memcyco dashboard, you’ll see exact details of that specific customer, as well as data about the fake site, and attack timing.
