This bug was replicated and raised to Morningstar to implement a fix. We never received an acknowledgement of raising the bug. This took around half a day to reset the investment list to the prior specifications. As a result, we are still using the legacy Morningstar which does seem to be quite slow compared to other software we use. Several of our data points were turned off in August 2025 with very little notice. We had to reach out for the documentation on which datapoints were being replaced - which was not a one to one mapping and so was unhelpful. This required around a day of time to assess whether the new data points were appropriate replacements. Some of the responses to the queries on the new data points were bizarre - i.e. EBITDA LTM is not reported well so they suggested applying EBITDA Margin% to Business Revenue, which is using derivative information to recalculate the input. We were also advised to use spreadsheet transformations to get data in the format which it was provided in prior to the data point switch, e.g. multiplying ROIC to make it a value between 1-100 (as per the old data point) instead of 0-1 (as per the new data point) without having the option to change this within MSD itself. The AI offering is still at a very basic stage. In a session to discuss this, most of our questions were responded to by noting our question was "part of the AI roadmap" and so provides very limited value to us now. Only a small portion of the data points offered by Morningstar are supported by the AI solution. > > Frustrating and time consuming.
